THE HELL - You're Listening To THE HELL (Album Review)

Oh where to start...

So back in the day when I did my old YouTube channel The Underground Billboard I stumbled across this album. Now I'll admit, it hooked me something fierce and I still dabble in it now and then, I mean detuned guitars, am I right?!. Rumours surround the legitimacy of these guys though, in the sense of are they for real or is it a gag but either way, take this with a pinch of salt and take it for what it is and you may just get a kick.

Just like the Caps lock in their name suggests, it's going to be loud and the opening two tracks You're Listening To The Hell & Step It Up are going to ram that message through your earholes for sure. In all honesty not much of the album really stands out and if I'm being honest it's more of a guilty pleasure than a masterpiece but that doesn't mean you shouldn't check it out at least once, you'll have some kind of reaction I can guarantee you that.

If I had to pick a top track it'd have to be It's The Motherfucking Hell (You Dick) cause I can't deny it's one groovy monster. As that title may suggest, the band is craving some kind of a reaction but they also take no shame in it, or in continually saying their name. I mean what?, four separate entries of their name in this review already and it's all from their own stuff.

After my pick of the album, we reach the song where in my opinion the album should've called time, These Butters Bitches (You're Fucking Butters) is another one on the album with everything chucked in just to make it heard and I'll give it credit, it's not bad. However as I mention the album should've stopped there as it gets very rinse and repeat and well...repetitive.

Still though I gotta admit I do still indulge in this now and then and have a good old groove to the detuned over the top energy on show.

Imagine giving Danny Dyer and the lads from Football Factory a bunch of guitars, a drum kit & a microphone, cause there's a hooligan vibe here! It's energetic, it's abrasive, it's in your face, and detuned lower than your Rich Tea biscuit that just broke in your tea!

Give it a go (with a lot of salt)
